Miles Leaburn has ended any uncertainty over his future by signing a new three-year contract at Charlton Athletic.

The striker’s previous deal had been until the end of June 2026. The SE7-based club had triggered a 12-month option in October 2024.

Leaburn, 21, told the Addicks’ official website: "Signing a new deal means a lot to me. I feel like I've still got a lot to give this club.

“I'm really excited for the new season ahead to show what I can do. I really think this club is going somewhere.

“Everyone has seen what the gaffer has done to the club and how he's transformed it. It's exciting to see where he's going to take it."

Leaburn’s extension follows new contracts for Macaulay Gillesphey and Micah Mbick at the end of last week.

Charlton boss Nathan Jones said: "We’re delighted because we believe that Miles has a big future. First and foremost he has to stay injury free, trust his body, trust himself and show the ability he has because he’s a magnificent footballer with a fantastic profile.

"While he scored some important goals last season, this will be the first time since I’ve been here that Miles gets a pre-season, so this will be a real start of the journey with him. We feel we have real unfinished business with myself and Miles together."

Leaburn is set to get his first pre-season minutes in Saturday’s friendly at Dartford.

He suffered a quad injury in March which made him a spectator for the League One run-in but still finished with 10 goals in 32 matches in all competitions. He also won League One Player of the Month and EFL Young Player of the Month in December, scoring four goals and collecting two assists in that period.

Leaburn, the son of former Charlton Athletic target man Carl, is facing competition for an attacking spot from Matty Godden, Tyreece Campbell and new arrival Isaac Olaofe.
