Charlton Athletic defensive rock Lloyd Jones on international ambitions, contract status and being close to one of his personal targets this season
Lloyd Jones has admitted it would be a “huge honour” if he was to win international recognition with Wales.
The Charlton Athletic vice-captain has been one of the top-performing centre-backs in the country.
Addicks boss Nathan Jones recently told this website that he was prepared to speak to Wales chief Craig Bellamy if his defender had a desire to play for the country.

Jones, 30, represented Wales at U17 and U19 level but then accepted a switch to England’s youth set-up, making seven appearances for their U19 and U20 teams while he was on the books of Liverpool.
Asked by South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition about any potential Wales approach, Jones said: “It would be a huge honour. International football is like the ultimate, as a professional player.
