Nathan Jones is backing Charlton Athletic’s transfer recruitment activity and has total faith that plenty of their signings will see their valuations soar.

Jones talked after the impressive win at Portman Road about the importance of doing the basics well, especially when the south Londoners are “probably in the bottom six budget-wise”.

Charlton were one of the bigger spenders in League One, although nowhere near the sums of Birmingham City and Wrexham, but are ahead of both their fellow promoted clubs as well as the likes of Ipswich, Southampton, Norwich City and Sheffield United after the opening 11 matches.
