'The gaffer told me he would do everything to get the transfer done - I almost knew it was going to happen'

Harvey Knibbs has explained why he never had any doubts his move to Charlton Athletic would happen in the summer.

The 26-year-old signed for the Addicks on August 1 after an undisclosed fee was agreed with Reading. Just days earlier then Royals boss Noel Hunt claimed the transfer had collapsed.

But Knibbs told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition that his regular contact with Nathan Jones kept him cool, calm and collected as negotiations played out.
