Season five of Stranger Things is out today on Netflix. And it got me thinking last night - on the long drive back from the bet365 Stadium - that Charlton Athletic’s Championship slump is a bit like they’ve been plunged into the Upside Down.
For those that haven’t watched the series (as a kid of the 80s as well as a lover of horror and supernatural stories it was a must-watch from day dot), a search on the web describes the Upside Down as “a parallel, dark, and decaying alternate dimension that mirrors the human world but is a hostile, toxic hellscape”.
Well when you look at the last two matches for the Addicks, it certainly feels like something has alarmingly shifted and suddenly Nathan Jones’ side are vulnerable and easy prey.
