BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON

It has to be, doesn’t it?

Isaac Oloafe’s late, late winner at Sheffield United in September was another special moment for Charlton Athletic in this Championship campaign which has started, let’s be having it right, in dream fashion.

But that is topped by a 3-0 victory at Ipswich Town, who had been unbeaten at Portman Road prior to Tuesday night and came into the match on a three-match winning streak at home.

This was a Tractor Boys side that were in the Premier League as recently as May - although their relegation fate had been sealed comfortably before then - and piled on the pressure, particularly up until half-time.

So I can’t imagine there were any Charlton supporters expecting to be chanting “we want four” in the closing 20 minutes of the match in East Anglia.
