NO EASY GAMES IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Football managers often come out with this line even when, in reality, there are matches which do prove to be a breeze.

But when it comes to Charlton Athletic in their first season back at Championship level, and based on the four fixtures so far, it’s hard to shake the feeling that they are rarely going to be in what could be described as a ‘comfortable’ position in matches.

I felt before the campaign started, and I’d wager I wasn’t alone in this notion, that the Addicks were not going to be free scoring.
