JOB DONE

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones made 11 changes for the EFL Cup tie and it underlines the depth of his squad that they handled Stevenage, who have won their opening two League One matches, without any major issues.

It looked a long way back for the visitors after Miles Leaburn and Ibrahim Fullah put the Addicks into a two-goal lead at the interval.

Leaburn netted his 31st goal in Charlton colours in the 27th minute. Stevenage midfielder Dan Phillips gifted the ball to Isaac Olaofe in his own half and the summer signing from Stockport rolled in Leaburn on the right of the penalty area. The 21-year-old does not miss those kind of chances. He took one touch before calmly slotting past keeper Taye Ashby-Hammond.
