I don’t agree with the booing… I only boo refs when they make stupid decisions or make games about themselves.
I think part of the booing was comical… in the stand it didn’t feel particularly cruel or anything… it was almost pantomimey.
The issue is that it’s pretty clear he agreed a pre contract before we even looked like getting promoted… even after the playoff final it took a little while for him to actually go there so I wonder if he was genuinely thinking about our offer?
Issue is no one knows if he was offered more money, he clearly felt he should have been offered a bigger contract earlier… which I would have argued he hadn’t earned. It was a messy exit, with poor communication so it looks like he just went for more money (which fair enough we all do it in our day jobs)… and that always upsets fans.
Think his girlfriend is northern too… so that was probably a factor… it’s a tricky one.
