Really interesting comments from David Davis. We have never heard from Chris Solly on why he made his decision at the time. I know he is back at the club but I feel it tainted his long career with us. Especially if we as fans have to make our own conclusions.
Lyle Taylor likes to talk about everything but did we ever get to the bottom of why he did what did. I think we all know why. 🐍
Each of those three careers in many ways never kicked on. Yes, Taylor made a shit load of money but has hardly played since and was just released by Chelmsford.
Yes, fascinating from Davis. As a loanee you want games and he wasn't being picked towards the end - although given how he'd played when he was in the team that's perhaps not entirely surprising! Interesting that he was given the heads-up about being thrown under the bus - which is of course precisely what Bow did to the three of them.
Solls has kept his counsel and that's obviously his right, but as you suggest the vacuum quickly gets filled with rumours and innuendo, which do him no favours. Of course, it was a miracle that he could still run at that stage and I think I'd be right in saying that he was injured in the months leading up to the first lockdown.
He was going to be let go anyway, so in that context I would view his decision not to play during Project Restart far more favourably than the guy that was angling for his big move to the Forest bench. I understand that there were other factors at play behind the scenes too.
I know just the man to get clarification from Chris - although it may not be on quite the same level as Tom Grennan's recent "I really do support Cov" confessional!😀
