Charlie Kelman is a man on a mission.
Not just to prove he can cut it in the Championship. But also, by doing that, showing that he should be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s USA squad for next summer’s World Cup.
The second part of that target is not going to be attainable without the first part being achieved, and that can only be good news for Charlton Athletic.
Kelman, confirmed as an Addicks player last Saturday, is not going to be found wanting if ticking off his career goals comes down to drive and determination.
Just one little example of that came shortly after the 23-year-old had put pen to paper on his Charlton Athletic contract, which runs until the summer of 2029.
