Nathan Jones reveals how long Charlie Kelman had been a transfer target for Charlton Athletic
Boss dismisses some of the fees reported for their summer window trading
Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has revealed exactly how long he had been tracking Charlie Kelman before making him one of the club’s summer transfer window additions.
The 23-year-old striker, who scored 27 goals in all competitions last season while on loan to Leyton Orient, made the move from QPR last weekend for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £3million.
Kelman gained his first minutes for the Addicks in last night’s 2-1 friendly loss to Ipswich Town.
He came on in the closing 20 minutes and had one attempt, firing into the side-netting from a difficult angle.
