Nathan Jones has talked about the “stellar” environment at Charlton Athletic - pointing out it is the perfect place for Danny Hylton to hone his coaching skills.
The Addicks manager is backing the 36-year-old, who retired from playing at the end of last season, to become a boss in his own right in the future.

And Jones has handed coaching opportunities to plenty of people that have gone on to get top jobs of their own with Alan Sheehan, in charge of Saturday’s opponents Swansea City, just one example.
Hylton, who mixed playing and coaching last season after signing as a free agent in September 2024, has taken on set-piece responsibilities after James Brayne left to become assistant coach at Premier League new boys Sunderland in early August.
Replays showed Jones hugging and going to give Hylton a kiss on the cheek as they celebrated Luke Berry’s late equaliser at Hull City on Saturday. The goal came from a James Bree corner kick.
