Nathan Jones has spoken in detail about his decision to bring the Charlton Athletic squad into their Sparrows Lane training ground the day after the 3-1 loss to Norwich City.

The Addicks players made their journeys in before midday for what the Welshman described as “a debrief”. Quite often they usually take place on a Monday but Jones opted to switch the approach up after a first home defeat of the campaign at The Valley.

Charlton are winless since the end of August, a sequence of nine matches, and head to Championship leaders Middlesbrough on Saturday.
