Nathan Jones has confirmed that Josh Edwards is available for Charlton Athletic’s Championship match at Cardiff City on Saturday.
The Scottish defender has not played a first-team match for the Addicks since September 27 last year due to an ankle injury.
Edwards had been the first-choice left wing-back prior to the issue.

Edwards’ absence last season, he came off in a 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers at The Valley, proved problematic as Charlton did not have adequate cover down that side.
Charlton signed Luke Chambers on loan from Liverpool in the second half of last season but at times it was Tyreece Campbell who dropped into a deeper role after Edwards was ruled out.
Edwards made 46 appearances in the 2024-25 League One campaign that ended with play-off success. It capped off an excellent first season in English football after joining from Dunfermline.
“We are in a better position than what we were,” said Charlton boss Jones, when asked by this website about the latest state of play on the injury front. “We have got a few available now, a few trained today. Micah Mbick is closer and Josh Edwards is available. Billy Koumetio trained today, as well.”
Edwards played 45 minutes for Charlton’s U21s on Sunday, providing an assist in a 2-2 draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.
“He was excellent, it was a really good competitive game,” said Jones. “He has been training for a number of months now and training far more intensely the last couple of weeks. He just needed that game to tick a box.
