Is Charlton Athletic trialist Nathan Redmond in the Championship last-chance saloon?
Ex-England international's moves to Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn failed to pay off
Nathan Redmond is hoping that his trial spell with Charlton Athletic hands him a Championship lifeline.
But if the former Norwich and Southampton winger does not do enough to land a contract with the Addicks, it could mean the 32-year-old is forced to set his sights below England’s top two divisions for the first time in his career.

Redmond’s footballing CV is impressive. One England cap but also 10 goals and 39 appearances at U21 level. He has made 276 Premier League appearances and completed 115 matches in the Championship. Plus he had a productive time playing for Besiktas in Turkey.
But that only tells part of the story….the good times.
That spell in the Super Lig, in the 2022-23 season, is the last time Redmond, who made his debut for Birmingham City at the age of 16 years and 173 days, played regularly (more than 1,000 minutes in a single campaign) and produced attacking returns.
