Thomas Kaminski has revealed he was “very, very close” to sealing a summer transfer away from England before Charlton Athletic secured his services.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper signed for the Addicks on July 1 on a deal which runs until 2028.
Kaminski has been an ever-present in the Championship for Nathan Jones, despite Will Mannion and Ashley Maynard-Brewer recording 26 clean sheets between them last season in League One.

The experienced Belgium-born stopper had been linked with a return to his homeland following Luton Town’s relegation to League One in May - Anderlecht and Standard Liege credited with interest - as well as Turkish Super Lig side Antalyaspor reported to be in the mix.
