Charlton Athletic will not be signing Michail Antonio.

Addicks manager Nathan Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition that the 35-year-old former West Ham United striker will instead seal a move to play football in Qatar.

Jones has answered whether he is still expecting to use the free agent market.

Antonio, who has been unattached since leaving the Hammers in the summer, had a spell training with Charlton.

He had previously had spells with Brentford and Leicester City as he looked to secure a return to the domestic game.

Antonio was recently photographed watching one of Al‑Sailiya’s matches but at that time it was reported by the BBC that negotiations were still ongoing with Charlton.
