Nathan Jones says that his Charlton Athletic side must win at least one of their home games against Bolton Wanderers or Sheffield United as a minimum acceptable return before the international break.
The Welshman made it clear with his post-match comments after the Addicks’ 3-0 loss at Middlesbrough yesterday that he knows pressure and scrutiny is increasing.
Charlton’s last victory was nine weeks ago - the 1-0 win over rock bottom Preston North End on August 29.
The Addicks are 10 without a win and that is the joint longest that Jones has gone without a three-point haul in his 10-year managerial career, last being on this kind of torrid run while he was Stoke City chief.

"The thing I'm more annoyed about is we're just not us at this point in time. I have to find a formula to do that - because either we change or something will change,” said Jones, who was appointed in February 2024.
"We have to get a quick reaction. It’s not hope we get a reaction....we have to get a reaction Tuesday and we have to get a reaction Saturday. We can't go another week without winning a game - that is the reality of Championship football."
South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition asked the Welshman how he was feeling as he looked to arrest the team’s slide.
They dropped another spot to 20th after Norwich’s 3-2 win against Watford.
“This is what we get paid for,” responded Jones. “Either you turn it around or you turn around. I’ve been through this before. I’ve been through tough times. Effectively I’ve had a tough time literally every year that we’ve been here.
