Charlton boss confirms that wing-back signing is priority before summer transfer window closes
Jones also talks about if incoming deal could be a loan, provides update on Matty Godden's fitness and gives verdict on Charlie Kelman's start to life in SE7
Nathan Jones was back on media duty this afternoon at Sparrows Lane to preview Charlton Athletic’s Championship fixture at QPR on Saturday.
This website was there to quiz the Addicks boss on a whole manner of things including the latest state of play on the transfer front - including what position was key to still add to - as well as the fitness status of Matty Godden.
We also asked Jones to assess Charlie Kelman’s opening weeks at Charlton with last season’s League One Golden Boot winner heading back to Rangers, who sold him in July.
The Welshman also discusses his heaviest loss as a boss - with this weekend’s opponents smarting from a 7-1 drubbing at Coventry City.

The club’s in-house media interview, which kicked off the press conference, saw Jones confirm that the Addicks will definitely add to their ranks before Monday’s 7pm transfer window deadline.
“We will strengthen this squad in the next three or four days,” he said. “We have a list, we are working through certain things. There is scope and there is a desire to improve on at least one level.”
If so, it means that the recruitment drive will tick them over into double figures for incoming deals.
Below are Jones’ answers to South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition.

It was so important that we got him to the end of last season - he was one of the best strikers in the league and he was our top goalscorer.
