The summer transfer window is becoming a distant memory but that has not stopped Charlton Athletic conducting more squad signing business.

The Addicks confirmed yesterday that they have handed a short-term contract to former Norwich City winger Onel Hernandez.

The former Cuban international, 32, had already been training with the Addicks before putting pen to paper.

Hernandez was part of two Championship promotion-winning sides at Carrow Road and played 210 matches for the Norfolk club before being released at the end of last season.

WHAT DO YOU MAKE OF THE SIGNING FROM A CHARLTON PERSPECTIVE?

Southwell: I think it’s a really good move. Onel is somebody who has had a lot of Championship experience - some of it good, some of it not so good, some really good spells within that and some not so good spells within that. But what has been unwavering throughout has been his commitment, determination and hard work.
