Charlton Athletic Women release five players and remain in contract talks with nine of their promotion-winning squad
Bissell, Muya and Pearse all let go by WSL 1 newcomers
Charlton Athletic Women have revealed they are in talks with nine of their players about signing new contracts.
The Addicks are gearing up for life as a WSL 1 club following their play-off win last month against Leicester City.
And they have provided an update on their first-team squad.

Charlton remain in discussion with Katie Bradley, Lucy Fitzgerald, Carla Humphrey, Gillian Kenney, Ellie Mason, Elisha N’Dow, Charlotte Newsham, Anna Pedersen and Mia Ross about extending their stays in south-east London.
Addicks boss Karen Hills has decided to release Emma Bissell, Frankie Finlayson, Karin Muya, Gracie Pearse and Amalie Thestrup.
Jodie Hutton, Lucia Lobato, Katie Lockwood, Mary McAteer, Gloria Siber, Kiera Skeels, Lizzie Waldie and Sophie Whitehouse are under contract for the 2026-27 season.
Keira Flannery returns to her parent club West Ham United.

Obviously a revamp needed but surprised by a couple of releases bamed, but perhaps these could be player led not club?
Bit of a strange one… some of those players (Kenney, Newsham) had options in their contracts… I assume if the club are still talking too them it means those were player not club options? Otherwise surely they’d just trigger them?
