Nathan Jones has talked about Miles Leaburn’s missed chance at Birmingham City and reckons the Charlton Athletic striker only needs small gains to be a “top, top performer” in the Championship.

The 22-year-old failed to convert a glorious opportunity in the first half at St Andrew’s after Isaac Olaofe had intercepted a pass by goalkeeper Ryan Allsop.

Leaburn was unable to hit the target, squandering the chance to quickly cancel out Christoph Klarer’s goal.

None of the Addicks frontline options have netted more than once this season.

Leaburn headed home in the 3-0 victory at Ipswich Town on October 21 but has gone eight matches without a goal.
