Two points collected in that period have set the alarm bells jangling

Before I jump into my player ratings for October, I’ll first give a bit of a wrap from a team perspective.

The summary? Not great. Not great at all.

Charlton’s 3-0 defeat at Middlesbrough on Saturday meant that Nathan Jones’ team ended the month on three successive losses. They took two points from a possible 15 - the same as Derby County. Only Preston North End, who have had no new manager bounce under Graham Alexander, had a more frugal October with a solitary draw.

The Addicks were fifth in the Championship table at the start of the month and their return in the five matches since a 3-1 loss at Cardiff City means they averaged 0.40 points per game.

Charlton have dropped to 20th but have a five-point buffer over 22nd-placed Burnley.

At the same stage of last season - with 13 matches played - the Addicks were eighth in the table and had 20 points, six more than now. They have scored four fewer goals (11) and conceded 10 more (21).

For any player to get a rating they need to have played at least 90 minutes in a month.

ARTHUR OKONKWO - 5.5

The Wrexham loanee had one of the best scores for September but there have definitely been some issues in October. Yes, he made saves. But also he was at fault for some of the goals conceded. Sebastian Berhalter’s opening goal should have been kept out on Saturday and he parried Edo Kayembe’s shot straight to the grateful Luca Kjerrumgaard for Watford’s opening goal.
