Charlton Athletic complete deal for Lyndon Dykes - is that the end of striker signings in the transfer window?
Nathan Jones tells us whether the Addicks are in for UEFA Conference League top-scorer Nardin Mulahusejnovic
Nathan Jones has outlined the striker options Charlton Athletic had after completing a deal for Lyndon Dykes.
The Addicks have signed the 30-year-old on a permanent transfer until the end of the Championship season.
The length of deal is slightly puzzling in the sense that Birmingham announced they had signed Dykes on a three-year contract when he arrived from QPR in August 2024, meaning that he should still have 12 months left to run on those terms.
Instead Charlton have boosted their frontline options with a player who could be leading Scotland’s attack at the World Cup this summer. Doing well for his new employers is pretty imperative to making that goal a reality.

“He is a proper number nine, he’s a target, he scores goals, he’s an international footballer and he’s experienced at Championship level,” Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition.
“He will give us real added competition in those attacking areas.”
