Charlton Athletic boss outlines injury situation for Rob Apter and Josh Edwards, Will Mannion absence, whether Lyndon Dykes is still a transfer target and Greg Docherty links
Plenty of talking points to come out of Gillingham friendly
Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones has confirmed that Rob Apter missed today’s 1-0 friendly win at Gillingham due to injury.
The 23-year-old winger featured in the first two tune-up matches and scored the only goal in the victory against Dartford earlier this month.

But Apter, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Bolton Wanderers, did not feature in Kent this afternoon.
“We’re hope it is not too long,” Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition. “It is just a bit of bone bruising in his knee. It hasn’t been an impact thing, it’s just the work done in pre-season and the off season. He worked really hard to get back.
“Once he has come back into pre-season it is the hard grounds and the volume of work that we’ve put into them. He’s just had a little flare-up, so we’ve got to let that settle down.”
Josh Edwards has not played in any of the friendlies and has been out since suffering ankle ligament damage in September.
