Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones accused his side of “capitulating” in today’s 4-0 hammering at Millwall.

The Addicks went behind after just seven minutes in SE16 - a Kayne Ramsay own goal after goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski pushed Macaulay Langstaff’s header on to the centre-back.

The home team missed two glorious chances to extend their advantage in the opening 45 minutes, one of those a shocking close-range finish by Josh Coburn.

Charlton were unable to regroup at the interval or early in the second half after Jones made a triple substitution. It was even more dominant one-way traffic after the break with Kaminski’s goal living a charmed life before Caleb Taylor headed in Alfie Doughty’s corner.

A large portion of the away end, which housed nearly 3,000 fans, had largely emptied before Luke Cundle scored in the second minute of stoppage time after Kaminski had initially saved Camiel Neghli’s penalty.

A fourth followed immediately as Ramsay’s weak clearance header was slammed home by substitute Aidomo Emakhu.

Jones held up his hand in apology to those supporters who did stay until full-time - many of them gesturing for the players to go away as they stood dejectedly applauding.
