Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones on Matty Godden training status, clears up loan striker Gassan Ahadme's Stevenage squad absence and why time was right to hand successive starts to Karoy Anderson
Welshman also discusses Rob Apter's performance against Oxford United and handing first Championship minutes to Keenan Gough
South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition caught up with Nathan Jones this afternoon ahead of the Boxing Day trip to Norwich City.
The Welshman was able to provide a positive development regarding last season’s top scorer Matty Godden, who has not featured since May’s League One play-off final win due to complications with a knee injury.
Other questions included an explanation why Gassan Ahadme, loaned to Stevenage in the summer transfer window, has not made their matchday squad in the past three matches.
Jones also discussed handing back to back starts to Karoy Anderson plus his assessment of Rob Apter’s performance at left wing-back in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Oxford United.
Are you able to say with any certainty yet whether Daniel Kanu and Micah Mbick will stay out on loan at Walsall and Colchester respectively?
Jones: “They have given us decisions to make because they have both been doing fantastically well.
