Charlton Athletic boss has positive Matty Godden injury news and reacts to transfer link to Bristol City winger
Nathan Jones discusses Hull City match - Welshman was in much tighter drop spot in 2019-20 Championship campaign
Nathan Jones has been able to provide a positive injury update on Matty Godden ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Hull City.
The striker replaced Liverpool loanee Luke Chambers in the 78th minute in Wednesday night’s 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town but picked up an injury almost instantly.
Godden was left badly struggling for mobility and seemed unable to put any serious weight through his right leg for the remainder of the match. The former Coventry City attacker stayed on the pitch because Charlton had used all their substitutions.

Charlton Athletic fans have expressed concern that the forward, who was their leading scorer when they won promotion from League One, might have sustained a serious problem.
Godden, 34, is out of contract at the end of June but there is a club option to extend by a further 12 months.
Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition: “He was in so much pain that we felt it could be a crack or a fracture. Fortunately enough it wasn’t. It is just about pain management now because there is nothing structural there. It was a kick in the side of the calf.
