'A big step in our evolution process' - Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones on SE7 return for Karlan Grant and discusses wanting to add another midfielder in summer transfer window
Former West Brom and Huddersfield attacker, 28, signs two-year contract
Charlton Athletic have made Karlan Grant their third signing of the summer transfer window - with manager Nathan Jones a long-term admirer of the 28-year-old attacker.
The former England U19 international, who started his career with the Addicks before a big-money switch to Huddersfield Town in 2019, was a free agent after leaving West Bromwich Albion.
Grant, 28, has joined on a two-year deal.

He is the first offensive signing made by the Addicks in the current window after the defensive additions of Ivan Mesik and Billy Koumetio.
“Karlan has been on my radar since he was 15,” Jones told South London Sport: Charlton Athletic Edition. “I was aware of Karlan when I coached here with the U21s. I really took an interest in him.
“I spoke to Harty (Paul Hart, then academy boss) about him and he said: ‘This kid has got it all - he can be a bit special’. He has proved that. He went through the Charlton age groups quickly and got into the first team.
